Any paddling experience, even distant past? And in what - canoe, kayak, other?
I took lessons years ago sponsored by TSRA to learn canoe basics-great experience. In addition, I have floated the Hiawassee, rafted the Ocoee (with a commercial company) and have kayaked a few occasionsons Percy Priest and the the Harpeth. Fun!

This was my first experience with NKL, and I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone who either has had no experience with kayaks, or who has never had formal instruction. The basics covered are both potentially life-saving, but also touch on techniques and practices that are efficient, and equipment that is necessary and/or practical. One final suggestion would be to provide a brief description of the subjects to be covered, as both an introduction to the lessions and a reminder for later. Great job and thanks, Leslie!
