Kayaking, fishing, hanging out Camping

Three days of FREE Camping at Clay County Recreation Complex Fairgrounds which is about a two hour drive from Nashville. Food vendors will be available so bring your tents and boats. Awesome fall weather provided free, too! :) This is a multi-group event attended by lots of outdoorsy people who just like to have fun.

Enjoy a variety of local outdoor activities that weekend, including the Roller Coaster Yard Sale.

Clay County Recreation Complex Fairgrounds is located on the West Bank of the Cumberland River, adjacent to HWY 52 in Celina TN. The downtown area of Celina is within walking or biking distance of the fairgrounds. Dale Hollow Lake Dam is 6 miles from the fairgrounds.

PADDLING:
(Class I Recreational Kayaking & Canoeing)
Many paddling opportunities are available for every experience level of paddlers including Obey River, Cumberland River, & Dale Hollow Lake. The fairground is immediately downstream from the confluence of the Cumberland River & the Obey River. An access ramp to the Cumberland River is available adjacent to our camping area.

Paddle #1: Obey River to Cumberland River - Class I
The first leg of river paddling will begin on the Obey River below Dale Hollow Dam continuing for approximately 8 miles passing Donaldson Park Recreation Area access, continuing to the confluence with the Cumberland River, ending at the Clay County Recreation Complex Fairgrounds access ramp.

Plenty of Additional Paddles available along the Cumberland River.

FISHING:
Fish the Obey River, Hatchery Creek, Cumberland River, or Dale Hollow Lake. If you like Trout fishing, then grab your fishing pole!

Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery is adjacent to the Obey River at Dale Hollow Lake Dam (open to the public).

Below the hatchery there is a small creek (Hatchery Creek) that is also stocked with trout. A paved walking path along the creek provides easy access. Obey River (below the dam) is the Tennessee state record rainbow trout (14 pounds, 8 ounces) and brown trout (26 pounds, 2 ounces).


CAMPING:
Camp for FREE at Clay County Recreation Complex Fairgrounds or choose from many nearby camping opportunities. Arrive anytime Friday to setup camp. Camp in the mowed field beyond the main campground area, to the right of the entrance.

Fairgrounds amenities? Camping in a field with fairground bathrooms & showers. (1 mens shower & 1 womens shower). Water sources nearby. Food vendors will set up at the fairgrounds Thurs-Sat.
